Building and Marking of Hiking Trails in Lori

(Lori Region, Armenia)

In October, 2017 AHA Armenia signed a contract with UNDP Armenia. The project within this contract was to explore, scout, design, build, and mark 47.2 km of hiking trails in Lori. The trail building projects were accomplished and completed in July, 2018. The trail now connects Akhtala, Neghots, Tsaghkashat, Haghpat, Sanahin, Akner, Odzun, Horomay, and Kobayr. One of the goals of this project was to increase ecotourism in the above-mentioned rural communities and support and empower the local economy with employment opportunities while attracting tourists from around the world.
